Ever wondered what it's all about?
Over 2 million people in the UK and 10 million worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.
Alpha at Brickhill is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over a series of thought-provoking weekly sessions.
Who is it for?
The Alpha course is for everyone, especially:
- People who want to investigate Christianity
- New Christians
- Newcomers to the Church
- People wanting to brush up on the basics of Christianity
Our courses usually attract a diverse range of guests of different ages and backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints. Guests attend for a variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other people's beliefs or would like to explore what life is all about. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. All are welcome just to come and explore.
How the course works
The course is based around small groups, hosted by one or two leaders whose role is to facilitate and encourage discussion.
There is a short talk, which looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is then followed by a time of discussion in the small groups, where everyone is welcome to contribute, ask questions and discuss with the rest of the group. The emphasis is upon exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment.
For those available during the daytime we will be running a morning course from 10.00am- 12noon (with crèche available if required).
Alpha @ COSTA
Our evening course will run from 7.00-8.30pm at COSTA COFFEE in Bedford town centre. Both courses are fun and friendly and offer a safe environment to explore Christianity.
Course content
Each talk will cover one of the following topics, which people are free to discuss in their groups afterwards:
- Does God exist?
- Who is Jesus?
- What about the resurrection?
- Why did Jesus die?
