Make the most of summer

Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon during July and August the Stepping Stone Café in Bedford Park will be open from 2pm to 6pm, serving hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, and other refreshments. The Café has been run by Brickhill Baptist Church with the involvement of several other local churches and the support of Bedford Borough Council since 2003.

Why we do this

Everyone serving in the Café is an unpaid volunteer and the cakes are made in homes and donated free of charge. Christians believe that God has called them to declare His love to the world in what we say and what we do. One of the ways we can show our town this love is by running projects such as this Café. We’re not asking for anything in return, we’re not looking to make a profit, we just want to serve the people who come here.

You can help make the Café happen, by baking a cake or helping to serve. If you'd like to do this, or for more information about serving, please contact us, or put your name down on the rotas in the foyer of the Church Centre. And most importantly, bring people along!
