Brickhill is led by a team of men recognised as being called by God to govern this church. The Biblical title for this role is “elder”, so that’s what we use.
These are the Brickhill elders:
 |
Paul Woodward
Paul joined the team at Brickhill in 1995 and was appointed Lead Elder in 1997. He had previously been involved in the leadership of New Life Church Milton Keynes North. Before that he was Chief Engineer for Hammond Organ UK Ltd. Along with his responsibilities at Brickhill, Paul works closely with leaders of other churches in Bedford and the local region, as well as having strong links with Lighthouse International Church in Izmir, Turkey and Bethel Miracle Church in Mbeya, Tanzania. He is married to Jean and they have two children and three grandchildren. Paul loves steam engines, his model railway, and basically anything technical.

Richard Green
Richard joined the eldership team at Brickhill in 1999, having led a church in Birmingham for seven years. Prior to this he had jobs in engineering and insurance, and trained at Spurgeon’s College. He is involved in preaching and teaching at Brickhill, and is particularly responsible for keeping the church outward-looking. He leads the Alpha courses at Brickhill and is an Alpha Regional Advisor. He loves seeing people’s lives transformed by Jesus, and is passionate about seeing the church reflect the full extent of God’s purposes. Richard is married to Ginny and they have two children. He loves playing sport, especially squash, enjoys eating chocolate and supports the Bedford Blues and Aston Villa.

Chris Hall
Chris moved to Bedford with his family in 1975 and has been at elder at Brickhill since 1984. He is and has been involved in many different areas of church life including working with children and young people. He teaches history at Sharnbrook Upper School and is due to retire in July 2008; he is seeking God for what is next in his life! Chris has four daughters (spread across three continents!) and five grandchildren. He loves watching movies, particularly The Third Man, and sport, especially rugby.

Jonathan Jeacocke
Jonathan is the Vice President of engineering at DisplayLink, a fabless semi-conductor start-up company based in Cambridge. He moved to Bedford from Scotland in 1990 and has been an elder at Brickhill since 2005. His role at Brickhill involves leadership, music, and technology. Jonathan longs to see more and more Christians living their life to the full, and for Brickhill to increasingly express the diversity of God’s family. He and his wife Helen have two children. Jonathan not only enjoys gadgets, he knows how they work!

Mervyn Thomas
Mervyn is passionate about enabling resources to be made available and used effectively for building God’s Kingdom in Brickhill and around the world. He is the treasurer of the church, oversees much of the legal responsibilities, has led growth groups and was a founder member of the Hope Debt Advice Centre. He was recognised as an elder in 2005. He is also treasurer of the Bedford YMCA and sits as a trustee of three Newfrontiers church plants. Before (semi-)retirement, Mervyn worked for Texas Instruments and was a self-employed accounting systems developer. He is married to Margaret, who started and helps run Operation Tanzania, and they have two children. They enjoy travelling and walking, and Mervyn enjoys searching the internet for bargains!
