Together @ Shuttleworth

Shuttleworth 2010 event is Friday 27th - Monday 30th August 2010

Together @ Shuttleworth is a great opportunity hear from God and to have a wonderful weekend with other people from Brickhill and 40 other churches in our region. As we look to become more focused on the great mission that God has for us, this weekend could be really significant in envisioning, encouraging, and equipping you to play your part.

The event is being held at Shuttleworth Agricultural College, less than 30 minutes’ drive from Bedford. You can get directions here. Camping as a church together will be great fun, but if you are unable to do this you can purchase day passes.

The plan for the weekend is to arrive and pitch tents on Friday, with meetings and seminars throughout Saturday and Sunday, and finishing on Monday morning. We will then ‘break camp’ and head home. Prices and booking facilities will be available through the official website. What a great weekend we had in 2009 with over 1900 people enjoying God together!

This is an event planned for the whole family, with dedicated activities for children and young people. The Moore family went to Shuttleworth '08 and '09 this was their experience:

Together @ Shuttleworth was brilliant. The whole weekend was so faith-building. The praise and worship were amazing. It was so good to be in God's presence with so many other people. The teaching was excellent and we felt God challenge us about leading a Saturday morning growth group, which we have now started. I felt proud to be part of Newfrontiers with its emphasis on church planting and the ministry that was witnessed in Acts.

The children had a fantastic time in their group sessions. God also moved amongst the children and there were healings and other testimonies. Harry was baptised in the Spirit and spoke in tongues for the first time!

It was also good to spend time camping with our friends from Brickhill and people from church who we didn’t really know that well before the weekend. There was a real sense of community on our ‘unit’ and one evening we enjoyed a ‘bring and share’ tea.

I am aware that living out our faith in the real world can be hard at times. It is easy to feel cocooned in Christ with 1500 believers but the challenges lie when back in the daily routine of life. But we were able to take all that we learnt and experienced about God, His goodness and grace back home with us.

If you want to be challenged by God in a community environment (and enjoy camping- although it’s not compulsory!) then you will love Together@Shuttleworth. We are so looking forward to going back this year not only individually, but as a family and also with our church family.
